Our Story
Founded in 1975, Samoa News began as a small community newspaper with a simple goal: to keep the people of American Samoa informed about the events and issues affecting their daily lives. What started as a modest publication has grown into the territory's most trusted and widely-read news source.
For nearly five decades, we have chronicled the history of American Samoa through our pages — from local government decisions and community celebrations to high school sports championships and the achievements of our troops serving around the world. We take pride in being the paper of record for our territory.
Today, Samoa News publishes three times weekly in print and maintains a robust digital presence, ensuring that our readers — whether in Pago Pago or across the globe — stay connected to the community they call home.
