American Samoa Power Authority crews completed restoration of electrical service early this morning following an island-wide outage that affected thousands of residents.
The outage, caused by equipment failure at the Satala power plant, lasted approximately six hours before full service was restored.
ASPA officials apologized for the inconvenience and noted that aging infrastructure continues to pose challenges for reliable service delivery.
