The American Samoa Youth Basketball League officially tipped off this weekend with a record 300-plus participants registered across all age divisions.
The league, sponsored by the Department of Youth and Women's Affairs, provides structured athletic programming for children ages 8 to 16.
"Basketball teaches discipline, teamwork, and perseverance," said the program coordinator. "We're thrilled to see so many families embracing this opportunity."
Games will be held every Saturday at the Pago Pago gymnasium through April.

Agreed! The Pacific community always comes together in times like these.
Great coverage by Samoa News as always. It's crucial that we stay informed about what's happening in our neighboring islands.
Does anyone know how we can donate or volunteer to help with the recovery efforts?
You can donate through our official website or contact our local office. Every bit helps!
