Tears of joy flowed at Pago Pago International Airport as members of the Army Reserve unit returned home after completing a nine-month overseas deployment.
Family members, community leaders, and well-wishers gathered to welcome the soldiers home with leis, banners, and heartfelt embraces.
"There's no place like home," said one returning soldier as he embraced his children. "American Samoa will always be where my heart is."
A community celebration honoring the returning troops will be held next weekend.
